Hawaiian Holiday Photo Recap
We just returned from a whirlwind, happy Hawaiian (and Dallas) vacation!! This was the longest vacation either of us have ever taken, and it felt incredible visiting so many different places, family, and friends. As we mentioned before, we followed our survival guide for flying with a toddler, and we decided to allocate the majority of our time in Hawaii to exploring the big island. We have so many recommendations, advice, and tips to share for planning your next Hawaiian vacation to come on the blog. But for now, our focus is getting on top of never-ending loads of laundry and figuring out what to eat for dinner.
Here is a photo recap of our Hawaiian holiday, with a bit of Texas thrown in:
Squeezing into airplane bassinets for the last time!
Hiking through huge lava tubes, and over a solidified lava lake.
Snorkeling at the Kapoho Tide pools, walking distance from our Airbnb.
Admiring rainbows and lava at Volcanoes National Park.
Traveling to the Kona side of the island for calm white sand beaches….
…and shave ice the size of our head!
Admiring the Saturn’s rings through the telescopes at the Mauna Kea visitor’s center.
JZ’s highlight: Watching molten lava slosh beneath us from a (doors off) helicopter.
Living like locals at the Kalapana Night Markets.
Feasting on awesome Japanese food at Miyos in Hilo.
Learning about Hawaiian history and customs at the Place of Refuge.
Touring a coffee farm and learning about the growing and roasting process.
Begging for pineapple from neighbors.
Snorkeling with Dolphins…three days in a row!
Dreaming of moving to Kona so we can become dolphin photographers and have this be our life…
Feasting on more shaved ice
Visiting friends and family back on the mainland, in Texas.
Enjoying the resort lifestyle at Ko’Olina Beach Club on Oahu
